A Little About Me

Hi, I’m Liz — the hands (and occasional clay-covered face) behind Grey Matter Ceramics.

After more than a decade in the world of insurance, I traded spreadsheets for spinning wheels. We moved to Central Alberta to start a new chapter — one that includes family, creativity, and surprisingly a lot of clay under my fingernails. What started as a pottery class “just to try something new” quickly turned into a full-blown obsession (the healthy kind, promise).

I’m drawn to ceramics for its mix of mess and mindfulness — a quiet kind of magic. My work leans toward the contemporary: clean lines, functional forms, and a calm, sometimes playful aesthetic that plays well with everyday life.

Grey Matter Ceramics is about more than mugs and bowls (though I love a good mug). It’s about finding peace in the process, joy in imperfections, and beauty in the useful.

Thank you for stopping by and sharing in this new season of life — where creativity flows, community matters, and anything feels possible.
